Texture is the voice. I shoot skincare the way the skin will feel.
Min-ji Kwon learned beauty photography inside the industry that reinvented it. She came up in Seoul shooting texture and swatch work for indie skincare launches — the essences, jellies, and cushions that made K-beauty a global language — learning to photograph a formula the way the skin would feel it. Now she splits her year between Seoul and Sydney, working with the Korean and Australian indie wave: the SPF-first labels, the single-ingredient hero launches, the brands built on a feed before they ever touched a shelf. She understands the 2026 indie beauty industry from the inside — how a launch lives or dies on whether its texture stops the scroll and still feels true. Her frames are bright, dewy, and honest: one specular gleam on a swatch, water with real weight, the pack's own colour held sacred. She believes texture is a brand's voice, and her job is to make it speak. At ioli she directs the recipes that help beauty brands sound like themselves.
